New Worlds Through Radical Queer Ontology

Otherwise, Catastrophe

Abstract

Fischer famously intoned the difficulty that comes from living under Capitalism, by describing it as being easier to envision the end of the world rather than the end of Capitalism. What if we could envision a world of harmony and healing beyond the hierarchical and abusive one of today, using apocalypse as a source of new understanding and ontology instead of its conceptualized destruction so prevalent in contemporary apocalyptic media. Using the thoughts of queer intellectuals and the perspectives of queer identities that are particularly hostile to hegemonic influence, I seek to construct an ontological understanding for new, queer worlds.
